The majority of the world’s primitive ancient who worship of shamanism believe that the universe is divided into three layers: sky, earth and underworld which embodies the understanding of the primitive ancestors on the relationship between humans and nature. Shamanism faith holds that these three layers are formed by the central axis of the Nearwood(Cosmic Tree). The shaman can travel through an “axis” “tunnel ” or “hole” in the three realms by proceedings ritual. In this metaphorical context, the shaman, by climbing the “cosmic tree” and beating drums in the ritual, suggests a journey through the three realms and to the centre of the “cosmic.” The shaman’s instrument is also a tool of communication with the “gods of spiritual” in rituals, it represents the shaman’s journey through and materializes into a variety of symbolic sounds which vividly reappear the animism by making sound.

全球大部分基于萨满崇拜的原始先民认为宇宙分为三层:天空、大地与地下, 体现了先民对人与自然关系的理解。萨满信仰认为这三层由宇宙树的中心轴构成。萨满祭司可以成功穿越三界的“隧道”或“洞”。在这个隐喻的语境下,萨满通过在祭祀仪式中攀爬“宇宙树“并击鼓发声暗示穿越三界以及到达“世界”中心的旅程。萨满乐器作为与神灵沟通的工具它形象地再现萨满穿越的旅程,并物化为各种具有象征意义的声响。

This work focuses on the intangible symbol of “sound” in the context of shamanic rituals. Two artists try to “de-subjectify” the shaman in the ritual activities, encouraging the audience to become the “shaman” who makes sound through an interactive installation. The work is hung up with five touching sensor devices, combined with a 5.1 sound system. The main frame of the installation uses acoustic design, including c and other finding materials which can be seen as the reproduction of the “animistic view” for daily materials. This installation is trying to encourage the audience to experience a moment of “ trance” by making sound in this specific context of the audiovisual piece of work.

作品聚焦“声音”在萨满祭祀仪式背景下的无形象征。艺术家尝试把祭祀活动中的萨满“去主体化”, 通过互动的方式鼓励观众成为制造声音的“萨满” 。作品悬挂五个互动触摸的发声装置,配合5.1 音响系统,装置主体框架部分使用声学设计,金属,纤维,石膏,木材等日常可见简单材料混合再造,再现日常材料的“万物有灵观’。 这个装置试图通过在这个视听作品的特定语境中发出声音,来鼓励观众体验一种“恍惚”的时刻。
